Janet is a fibre artist, making Canadian heritage craft in contemporary ways. Her current focus is to use fibre craft to tell modern stories. She likes to use hooked fibre – which at first glance will look warm and welcoming – to talk about Canada’s darker human history. Sometimes she chooses to tell conservation and political stories through animal imagery. Janet strives to make art that makes people think - humanity and its idiosyncrasies are her inspiration.
