À propos

Nikkie Manzie has practiced art and fine-craft-making for over 40 years and has been writing for 4 years. She has worked as a therapist and teacher of earth-based spirituality and medicine for over 28 years. The disciplines combine as she explores and integrates the folk traditions and sacred knowledge of her Ukrainian grandparents, particularly the handwork that accompanies life and seasonal rites.

‘The pieces I create are relational. Relational to the individual or community they are made for; to the lands I, as a guest, live and walk upon; to the spirits and ancestors; and to the materials I work with.
I create works to inspire (in others) awareness of relational living... Each piece is crafted in ceremony, with prayers and intentions for the support, empowerment, and well-being of the one who will care-take the piece. Materials are specifically chosen to express and enhance these prayers and intentions. Often, I work in conjunction with individuals to tailor pieces to their needs.’
