I am a plastic pollution eco-artist focusing on marine environments. My creative vision implicitly speaks to the human condition in how we consume, dispose of, and think about waste. For me, the process of taking garbage out of the waste stream and transforming it into meaningful and aesthetic art forms ultimately symbolizes the arduous yet necessary practice of healing our destructive and traumatized nature. This is the garbage inside us all. I want to show that small steps of recovery from trauma can be transformative, and collectively, our actions have the potential to reconsider our relationship with what we throw away.
