About

My artwork is a way of preserving and celebrating my Romanian cultural heritage while also creating something new and unique.

One of my favorite techniques is to incorporate Romanian embroidery patterns into my paintings. These designs are typically created with colorful threads on textiles and have been passed down from generation to generation.

The motifs of the embroidery patterns often feature natural elements like flowers and leaves, as well as geometric shapes and abstract patterns. In my more recent pieces, I have experimented with combining traditional Romanian embroidery designs with other traditional elements - typically mosaics and architectural elements. By doing so, I am able to bridge the gap between traditional designs and the new media formats such as apparel, canvas and burlap to create art that feels fresh and exciting.

Recently I did learn loom weaving so I incorporated some of my loom crafts into the canvases.

My work often features traditional folk patterns along with oil painting scenes of Romania’s historical architecture and village scenes of the past. I bring the gap between the past and the present using mediums of both canvas as well as apparel.
