Born in Montreal, she has graduated in Art History from the University of Quebec in Montreal.

Louise Lemieux Bérubé is a gifted artist who combines her skills in photography and weaving. Bérubé has always been fascinated by the work of artists which she has incorporated into the imagery of her own work.

She has exhibited in Canada as well as in many countries of the world. Her work is represented in public collections (including the Canadian Embassy in London, UK; Deutsches Technikmuseum, Berlin; Place des Arts in Montréal, etc.) as well as in numerous private collections.

Lemieux Bérubé is the cofounder of the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles where she has taught students from around the world during her summer classes.

She is the author of Le Tissage créateur (1998), a text book for weavers, and the co-author, with Carole Greene, of her biography, Unwinding the Threads (2012).

Lemieux Bérubé was the President of the Conseil des métiers d’art du Quebec from 1990-2000. She has been a member of the administrative and advisory committees of the Socitété de développement des entreprises culturelles du Québec, and of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec during many years of her career.
