About
Jeanine Baker is a glass artist who constantly researches new techniques and methods in order to produce works, which are vibrant and varied in applications. Color, texture, line and layered transparency provide her favourite visual vocabulary.
As a result of her explorations, she incorporates warm glass techniques in her window panels to provide surface design that is free of the leaded lines of stained glass work. Painting, casting, kiln forming and lampworking glass are the new challenges as equipment and technical developments allow for more creativity in the field.
Jeanine uses the wilderness landscape, from panoramic to microscopic, for her inspiration, producing an imagery that is both representational and abstracted. Her work ranges from traditional stained glass techniques to combinations of most glass methods, always with the intent of capturing the light that passes through it all.
