About

My practice is founded on maintaining a precious value within the fabrics of our time. The heart of each textile is born from the desire to cultivate a knowing relationship to where and how our products are made. Each piece is thoughtfully considered, calculated, and developed; weaving together places, people, and time.

I feel intrinsically connected to the textiles that I weave and the colours I craft. I work with plant dyes and organic materials. Classic weave structures are used to design contemporary handweaving. Each handwoven scarf has a story to tell, a space to hold, and an affinity to define.

The slow and thoughtful process of crafting cloth by hand feels necessary to rebalance the scales of industrial output. Through the preservation of skill, knowledge and craftsmanship, I am dedicated to crafting functional textiles that are woven to endure time.

In 2015 I established a full-time practice as a Handweaver and Textile Artist. As a way of giving back to my community I have dedicated much of my time to volunteering with the Guild of Canadian Weavers; Editor (2012-2019), Vice President (2017-2018), President (2018-2022).
