Anne lives and works in Regina, Saskatchewan. Anne studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and the Alberta College of Art. I have always made functional pottery, but more recently have been exploring sculptural forms, as well as the use of line and texture on clay. If I was to describe how I work with clay, it would be building layers. Starting with forms, wheel thrown and hand built, slip, glaze, underglaze, overglaze colour and of course, heat from the kiln. Each piece is like a blank canvas, so the images are another layer. I use earthenware clay to create that canvas. The natural world around me is a large part of my inspiration. Working with clay is joyful.
