Kathy Kranias is an artist based in Toronto. Her current and upcoming international exhibitions include "A New Light: Canadian Women Artists" (2020) at the Embassy of Canada, Washington D.C and the Denver Fine Art Fair (2020). Kranias' ceramic sculptures are held in public and private international collections, including Canadian embassies in Beijing, Belgrade, Singapore, and Washington DC. Solo exhibitions include "Archetypes in Clay" at the David Kaye Gallery (Toronto, Canada, 2010) and "Becoming the Persephone" at the Art Gallery of Peterborough (Peterborough, Canada, 2009). Kranias earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts cum laude in Studio Art from Concordia University (1986) and her Master of Arts cum laude in Art History from York University (2015), where she was awarded the SSHRC Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Master’s Scholarship.
