I emigrated in 1971 as a young married adult and recent Home Economics teacher graduate from Switzerland with a love to work with textiles. Saskatchewan is home since 1972. The art career started in Prince Albert by meeting Margaret VanWalsem, while exhibiting in the annual Winter Festival Exhibition. When teacher and artist George Glenn arrived in town as Artist in Residence, my career path got its start. Participating continuously in exhibitions and consistently creating artworks in mixed media and receiving the Bachelor of Fine Arts, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Saskatchewan in 1986 solidified my professional choice. During the years I have received many acknowledgements by collectors and peers, which have recognized my art by buying it or awarding me Saskatchewan Arts Board and/or Canada Council Grants. I am a founding member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council and received a Honourary Lifetime Membership in 2015. Besides serving on the Board of SCC, I also served for eight years on the Board of the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon. Currently I am working in collaboration with a poet and revisit old textiles of my grandmother. I am a sentient being, a thinking animal and the arts are my life and passion. My artwork reflects my individuality.
