Kathy Kranias is a Toronto-based clay sculptor and 2021 recipient of the Lily Yung Memorial Award from Craft Ontario. Kranias' sculptures were recently included in "A New Light: Canadian Women Artists" (2020) at the Embassy of Canada Art Gallery, Washington D.C and Intersect Chicago (SOFA 2020). Her sculptures are held in public and private international collections, including the Global Affairs Canada AWBZ Visual Art Collection. Solo exhibitions include "Archetypes in Clay" at the David Kaye Gallery (Toronto, Canada, 2010) and "Becoming the Persephone" at the Art Gallery of Peterborough (Peterborough, Canada, 2009). Kranias earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts cum laude in Studio Art from Concordia University and her Master of Arts cum laude in Art History from York University, where she was awarded the SSHRC Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Master’s Scholarship.
