Create your own unique piece of wearable art. Participants will learn the process of wet felting including proper layout of wool, working with prefelt, creating silk prefelt as well as making three dimensional elements from wool. The focus of the class will be to create stunning surface design on our cuffs by using multiple layers of wool and silk. This workshop is appropriate for more advanced felt makers as well as complete beginners. All materials are included in the $15 kit fee.

Bio: Christianna Ferguson takes the simplest of materials- wool, soap, and water- and transforms them into bold, unique, and complex textile designs. Her work ranges from functional wearable pieces to wall hangings, sculptures and conceptual work. She is recognized for her strong use of colour and unique surface design. Teaching and building community through the arts is an important and meaning part of Christianna’s full-time studio practice located in the village of Lakefield, Ontario.
