About

Artists: Dawn Detarando and Brian McArthur

Artist Talk: Thursday, February 6, 5 - 6pm.

Join Red Deer artists Dawn Detarando and Brian McArthur for a visual journey into their concept and experience creating a room made of snow and ice at the famous Icehotel in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden this past November and December of 2019.
Their hotel room, Feline Lair, was among 14 other decoratively themed rooms which were chosen by a jury and then created by artists from 16 different countries. Each group had 16 days to complete their concept.
Brian and Dawn will be in Edmonton to share their experience with us at the Alberta Craft Gallery while they also partake in this year's Silver Skate Festival snow sculpture competition.

The talk will begin promptly at 5pm to allow for some Q&A's.

Tickets are free for members of the Alberta Craft Council and pay-what-you-can for the public.
