About

Join us for a conversation with textile artist and educator, Bill Morton.

Artist Talk: 7 - 9pm
Gallery Tour: 9 - 10pm

Since 1926 AUArts has been a major contributor to Canada’s visual culture - in large part to the calibre of its faculty. Case in point is Bill Morton, artist and teacher, who after graduating from the Alberta College of Art (1967) went on to become the apprentice of a Master Dyer in Japan for 10 years. Bill returned to Calgary in 1983 and has never ceased to inspire students with his knowledge of textiles.

Bill Morton's work is collected and shown in the United States, Japan, China, and Canada. Bill was awarded the Alberta University of the Arts Alumni Award in 2019 and his work is currently on display in the exhibition Cultivate | Instigate.

Second speaker to be announced.

Event is free for members of the Alberta Craft Council and pay-what-you-can for the public. Cash bar.
