The Gardiner Museum is Canada’s national ceramics museum, and one of the world’s great specialty museums. We are committed to making a contribution to the medium we celebrate, as well as the community we serve.
The Gardiner possess collections of Meissen porcelain, rare Du Paquier porcelain from Vienna, and Hausmaler decorated porcelain that are of international importance, as well as one of the best collections of Italian Renaissance maiolica in Canada and the most comprehensive collection of figures from the commedia dell'arte in a public institution. The Museum is also home to The Raphael Yu Collection of Canadian Ceramics which includes 318 objects. The Museum is committed to building the finest collection of Canadian ceramics in the country, as well as ensuring that vital curatorial work is undertaken around these ceramics.
We strive to be an inviting destination that inspires and connects people, art, and ideas through clay.
