Inspired by all things green and growing, Canadian jewellery artist Melissa Pedersen creates wearable gardens out of solid sterling silver. Carving tiny leaves and flowers or creating molds from things like real seed pods, she creates components to use in her hand made jewellery designs. Traditional metalsmithing tools such as a jewellers torch, hammers, saws and files along with modern techniques like kiln- fired metal clay, help Melissa create one of a kind jewellery.
In 2009 Melissa received her BFA in jewellery from the Alberta College of Art and Design. She currently works from her studio located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
