This is a discussion that will explain to working ceramicists what is changing in their field and give students a preview of what awaits them after graduation. Clark deals with entry rules for fine art, the morphing of the craft market in design, pitfalls and benefits of online selling, and the key role of photography.

Garth Clark is a leading art critic and historian, curator, gallerist, and art dealer from Pretoria, South Africa who writes about modern and contemporary ceramic art as well as the craft movement. With his partner Mark Del Vecchio, he co-founded and ran the Garth Clark Gallery in New York City, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and London, UK. Together, Garth and Mark are responsible for over 500 exhibitions of contemporary ceramic art, launching numerous careers.

After five decades in the field, Garth Clark remains a provocative, witty voice, now encouraging a new controversial wave in the field. Author of over 80 books, 400 monographs essays and reviews, Clark is the founder of Cfile.Org and the cutting edge online Cfile. Daily, reaching 75,000 people in 196 countries every week.
